This study aimed to determine the capability of the municipality of La Trinidad in its bid towards cityhood in terms of its compliance to the requirements provided under the Local Government Code particularly on income, population and land area. It also considered its viability in terms of social services, economic structures, institutional machineries, and infrastructures existing in the locality and tried to determine the level of agreement of the people as represented by the barangay officials and existing non-government organizations and people's organizations in the municipality to the proposed cityhood. Descriptive method was used in evaluating the viability of the local government unit to convert into a city. Documentary analysis was employed which was supplemented with key informant interviews. It made use the survey questionnaire as the tool in determining t e level of agreement: of the different sectors to the proposed cityhood conversion.
