Thesis (Master in Business Administration) -- St. Paul University Dumaguete, March 2018.

This is a descriptive research aimed to document and present the fish vendors status in Dumaguete City and their contribution to the local economy. The study used a survey questionnaire as the main instrument a coupled with unstructured interviews. The questionnaire has three parts: Part I - the profile of the respondents: Part II - nature of the fish business vendor; Part Ill - is on the economic local contribution of the Fish Vendors. The researcher used the the percentage and ranking coupled with the computation of the mean, and midpoint to determine the total value. Since it was a self-made questionnaire pre-testing was conducted in Sibulan and Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental. The findings of this study revealed that majority of the fish vendors were adults, female and married.

They had been in the business for 12 years with a starting capital of 15,000 to 20,000 and have been selling a fish products by consignment basis. Mostly, the sources of fish products came from the Southern towns of Negros Oriental and Mindanao areas. It is recommended that the city government must pass legal measures to improve their stalls and other amenities: The Fish Vendors Association must work for their welfare.
