Quality of Life (QoL) is one ofthe most concerning health issues for cancer (CA)
clients undergoing chemotherapy. Purposive sampling was applied to identify the participants
and a validated questionnaire was employed. The socio-economic and environmental factors
are very much affecting their QoL during chemotherapy, since they belong to the lower-
middle class status which affects their compliance to expensive medical treatment. Similarly,
the challenges usually experienced is related to physical issues like hair loss, lack of energy,
nausea and vomiting, body pain, and weight loss. Likewise, psycho-emotional challenges
became prominent to some participants such as anxiety and fear. Improvement of physical
wellbeing through resting, intake of drugs to alleviate discomforts, and avoiding spicy foods
are the typically used coping mechanism. However, the coping and responses of every
individuals varies depending on each status, perceptions and outlook in life. Hence, the QoL is
specific and multidimensional type of cancer client's subjective perceptions and feelings
which includes the physical image, activities, psycho-social and financial problems yet with
effective coping mechanism and family support, it improves their physical, psycho-emotional,
social, functional, and spiritual wellbeing.
