<br/><br/> In the Philippines, senior citizens --- those aged 6- years and older --- enjoy many legally mandated benefits and privileges. The passage of Republic Act 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizen Act of 2010 also provided cash assistance of PHP500 per month (PHP6,000 per year) to indigent seniro citizens to augment their expenses on food and medicines.
