Thesis (Master in Library and Information Science) -- Centro Escolar University, March 2018.
The primary aim of this research is to determine the facts that affect accessibility and utilization of information sources in the library by the SDA high school teachers in Luzon area. Specifically, the researcher tried to determine the accessibility of information resources, the utilization and the way of which these resources are accessed and utilized by the teachers. Moreover, it is also the objective of this study to identify the problems that prevent accessibility and utilization of the library resources. The researcher also tried to determine the quality and quantity of library resources available thus improving and developing information literacy program to equip teachers. These also result in an understanding of the Seventh-day Adventist secondary school libraries and recognition of the accessibility of information in different formats.
This study used a descriptive correlational research design using the questionnaire in collecting data. The overall population of the study is two hundred nine (209), and a sample of one hundred thirty (130) respondents were selected. From one hundred thirty respondents in the actual study, 15 teachers were surveyed to test the reliability of the instrument. The reliability test was Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.7 and above, meaning it is acceptable. The results of this research have implications for SDA-secondary school libraries in Luzon, the utilization and the manner in which these resources are accessed by the teachers. Specifically, they affect secondary schools library instruction program, accessibility of resources, utilization, information skills of teachers and instructional leadership. It is a fact that often teachers rely on library personnel for help in their learning activities and using information resources.
