Summary: This paper proposed an automated solution in determining the particle size analysis of fine materials. The traditional method involves sieve analysis in which particle size distribution is determined by the samples that passed through and retained in layers of standard sieves. This method will generate the approximate size of the material based on sieves sizes where it passed thru and retained. The Image Processing method exhibits particle size analysis using Hough Circles Transform. The sizes we identified and classified based on sieve meshes. The software generated particle counts from samples that matched through sieve meshes sizes. The particle size were also identified with an accuracy of 92.25% using confusion matrix. In the implementation of this system, appropriate lighting and selection of samples was put into consideration.
