This study determined the predictors of performance in the criminology<br/> licensure examination by criminology graduates of the University of Eastern<br/> Descriptive-correlational and documentary analysis methods of research<br/> were used in this study. A complete enumeration of 251 criminology graduates<br/> and 10 criminology faculty members were involved as respondents. Informal<br/> interview and documentary analysis were the primary sources of data. Frequency<br/> counts, percentage and weighted mean, chi-square, and standardized deviation<br/> were utilized as the statistical tools.<br/> Results on the comparative percentage of attendance to criminology<br/> review classes revealed that a greater number of criminology-graduate<br/>respondents did not attend review classes; the general weighted average of<br/> criminology graduates from Batch 2012 to Batch 2017 was good; majority of<br/>X<br/> them had an average intelligence quotient test; and a greater number of them<br/> resided outside the municipality. Majority of criminology-faculty-respondents<br/> served for one to five years; majority of them are holders of master's degrees in<br/> other fields of specialization; and most of them have the rank of an instructor but<br/> have permanent appointments.<br/> It was likewise revealed that the department operation was manned by<br/> competent personnel and there was a strong organizational structure. The school<br/> provides support to the students and faculty members. The overall passing<br/> percentages of the criminology licensure examination were declining from<br/> academic year 2015 and in the succeeding years. The number of years in service<br/> and highest educational attainment of the criminology faculty members showed<br/> significant predictiori on their students' performance in the criminology licensure<br/> examination. |
