| Summary, etc. | The study explored the lived experiences of police officers • the<br/>implementation of the Philippine National Police anti - drug operation<br/>program. It answers the experiences of the police officers involved in drug<br/>operation and the strategies applied in solving the issues and challenges they<br/>encountered including its effect on the personal and official career of the<br/>police officers.<br/>he study utilized the qualitative interview method where the<br/>informants of the study were the police officers who were involved in anti -<br/>drug operation in Southern Leyte. There were ten ( 10) police officers involved<br/>or assigned in drug operation as informants of the study. A purposive<br/>sampling was used in selecting the informants who were from top three<br/>municipal police stations in Southern Leyte having the most number of drug<br/>operations conducted. An interview guide question was prepared for the<br/>individual interview and focused group discussion.<br/>The researcher after analyzing the responses of the informants. created<br/>the themes that addressed the sub - problems of the study. For the lived<br/>experiences of the informants in the conduct of drug operation, the researcher<br/>came up with following emergent themes: Feeling Great When There's a<br/>Catch, Facing Tall and Hard Wall and Being Uncooperative.<br/>For the strategy applied by the informants in solving the issues and<br/>challenges encountered in the drug operation, the following were the emergent<br/>themes: Having the Police Initiative and Securing an Effective Plan. For the<br/>effect of operation in the personal and professional career ofthe informants in<br/>the drug operation, the following emergent themes came about: Contentment<br/>in the Working Performance, Compromised Personal and Family Security<br/>and Commendation for the Accomplishment. |
